Do Murphy beds still sag, stick and slam? That is the question we get asked most, and the answer is that a good one does none of those things — because it takes a real mattress, runs on a counterbalanced mechanism you can lift with one hand, and is fixed into the studs by someone who does it every week. We build and install custom wall beds across San Diego from $2,900 for a twin, with cabinetry either side so the room reads as storage rather than as a bed pretending to be a wall.
Quick answer: Classy Closets builds and installs custom Murphy and wall beds across San Diego County from $2,900 for a twin, with surrounding cabinetry, manufactured locally in San Marcos and installed by our own crews. Call 800-730-0988 or book online.

What We Build
How our wall beds are built
The bed is the easy part. The cabinetry around it, and the fixing behind it, are what decide whether you still like it in three years.
A real mattress
Standard depth mattresses, not the thin foam pads that make a guest bed feel like a compromise.
Counterbalanced mechanism
Lifts and lowers with one hand and stays where you put it. No slam, no fight, no two-person operation.
Cabinetry either side
Shelving, closed storage or a desk run flanking the bed so the wall works while the bed is up.
Twin through king
Sized to the room and the guest. Vertical or horizontal orientation where ceiling height is tight.
Office by day
Pairs with a home office built-in so one room covers work and guests.
Fixed into structure
Anchored to studs by our own installers. This is the part that goes wrong when it is not.
Why Classy Closets
Common questions, answered up front
Will it damage the wall?
No — it is fixed to structure by our crew and can be removed later. Installation is included, not outsourced.
How much room does it need?
Less than you think closed, and about the depth of the mattress open. We check clearances during the free measure.
What does it cost?
From $2,900 for a twin, with surrounding cabinetry quoted separately so you can see what each part adds.
How long does it take?
Manufactured locally in San Marcos, with your schedule given at quote rather than estimated afterwards.

Questions
Murphy & Wall Beds in San Diego — answered.
Custom wall beds start at $2,900 for a twin. Adding surrounding cabinetry, a fold-down desk, or bookcases increases the total but turns the wall into a complete multi-use system. You get a fixed quote at your free consultation.
Yes. Our wall beds use a standard mattress, not a thin fold-out pad, so they sleep like a normal bed. The mechanism supports the mattress and bedding can usually stay in place when folded.
A vertical queen wall bed needs roughly the width of the mattress plus cabinetry and about 16 to 17 inches of depth when closed, projecting out when open. We measure your room and design the configuration that fits.
“Murphy bed” and “wall bed” refer to the same thing — a bed that folds up into a cabinet against the wall. We build custom versions with real mattresses and integrated cabinetry rather than off-the-shelf kits.
